Play Therapy Sessions for Children

Individual Play Therapy Sessions

For children 2 - 10 years old  experiencing psychosocial, emotional, behavioural &/or developmental difficulties. Child Centered Play Therapy sessions can also be very helpful for trauma debriefing and can be offered on an intensive basis.

Play Therapy sessions are generally held in a special Play Room but in special circumstances  can be offered for children in other settings, such as in hospitals.  In working with a child in Play Therapy, parents / carers are an important part of the process and there is contact with the parents/carers by phone and in scheduled  meetings.

Jill Pagotto, the Director of Play Therapy Australia, is only available in 2008, to see new children in her Play Therapy practice, for short term Trauma Debriefing sessions    Play Therapy sessions are also available with  Play Therapists who have completed the Certificate of Play Therapy Skills course and  who are now completing Post Graduate level  training in Child Centered Play Therapy and practising under clinical supervision.  Those in the Post Graduate Certificate of Clinical Play Therapy course  all have first qualifications in areas such as counselling, psychology, social work or related areas & are located in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia & New Zealand.
